Rewrite credits explained (1 credit = 500 words)
Checking Claude traces is free. Rewrite is the part that costs money to run, so it uses Polar credits. This page is the mechanics — not a substitute for the pricing page pack list.
The unit
- 1 credit = 500 words of rewrite input.
- Cost is words ÷ 500. A 19-word paste is 0.038 credits, not a whole credit.
- Cap per job: 20,000 words. Split larger documents.
- Unused credits never expire.
- If a rewrite job fails, you are not charged.
What credits buy (and don’t)
A credit pays for Remove watermark: meaning-preserving paraphrase with a non-Claude model, aimed at the statistical mark in token choice. Credits do not apply to:
- Checking — in-browser, free.
- Cleaning HTML class names, zero-width characters, and exotic spaces — also free. See clean traces vs rewrite.
Checking never leaves your browser. Rewrite sends the passage to the neutralize API, then discards it. There is no “we never see your text” claim for rewrite, and no permanent archive either.
How to recover credits
Buy on pricing. After checkout, sign in with the same email. Refunds only within 48 hours, unused credits only — after that, no. See refunds and terms. Polar is the merchant of record.
