# Claude Watermark Remover

> Free in-browser checker for inspectable Claude paste traces. Paid rewrite credits paraphrase with a non-Claude model to weaken Anthropic’s statistical text watermark. Not affiliated with Anthropic.

Claude Watermark Remover (https://claudewatermarkremover.app) is an independent tool. Checking and cleaning HTML class names, zero-width characters, and exotic spaces run in the browser with no account. Rewrite is paid because it costs money to run.

## Facts (as of 2 September 2026)

- Anthropic currently names Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1 as supported for text watermarks. New models launched on or after 2 August 2026 are marked at launch. Pre-August 2 models are not confirmed marked.
- There is no public consumer Claude watermark detector. Anthropic opened a private preview for eligible organizations.
- The main text mark is a statistical bias in word choice (SynthID-Text family). Nothing is added to the text; there are no hidden characters. It survives copy/paste and light edits. Clearing formatting does not remove it.
- C2PA signed provenance on PNG/JPG/SVG is a different channel from the text mark. Strip those files in the browser at /remove-c2pa; Anthropic’s checker is at claude.com/check-files.
- GPTZero, Turnitin, and ChatGPT score AI-like writing. They are not Anthropic’s watermark detector.
- 1 rewrite credit = 500 words. Credits never expire. Failed jobs are not charged. Check and clean stay free.
