Files & provenance

Claude C2PA provenance explained

Alongside invisible text watermarks, Claude can attach signed provenance metadata to supported files. That metadata follows the Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity (C2PA) open standard.

What C2PA is

C2PA records how content was created or processed and can help others verify provenance. If a signed label is present, it can indicate a file was processed by Claude and whether it appears tampered with afterward.

Which files are affected

Anthropic’s documentation calls out supported types such as .svg, .png, and .jpg where Claude attaches signed provenance metadata.

C2PA vs text watermarks

What this site covers today

Claude Watermark Remover is focused on text rewrite workflows for Claude’s embedded text marks. File/C2PA stripping is a different product surface and is not the current homepage tool.
